About the Play: The legal firm of Holmes & Holmes and friends of Senator Joseph H. Dolan had gathered at the Island Inn and Suites for the weekend to celebrate the not guilty verdict. The Senator had been on trial for the murder of Christina Moore - a high priced escort in DC.
When taking on the high profile case, the firm never asked if he was guilty or innocent - their objective and only objective was to win the case.
Dianna Burke, a senior partner in the firm, questioned the senator's innocence. She was not oblivious to the rumors and gossip that constantly swirled around the Senator. Dianna questioned if all the evidence gleaned for his defense was true - had some been tampered with? Had witnesses been coached and paid for their testimony? And in the end, had there been jury tampering?
Holmes & Holmes was a prestigious law firm in DC and Dianna could not believe anyone in the firm would break laws simply to win this case. If anyone did, it had to be the Senator - at least that's how she thought about it.
He could not be tried again due to double jeopardy but if he was guilty, his career would be ruined.
